| Clubbing At Lizard Lounge
So Ray, Jerry, and I went down to Dallas again last night. This time, we went to Lizard Lounge (free cover!) to go see DJ QBert and his awesome turntable skills.
It wasn't bad. DJ QBert was totally awesome since Ray and I have been watching his videos and his tutorials on scratching. His performance was definitively "Scratchy Approved."
What Scratchy wouldn't have approved of, however, is the way Lizard Lounge handled the event. DJ QBert came on at about 1AM. There were a few small performances from about 9PM to 10:30PM, but everything between then was just music. Music from a very long mixtape. Totally boring. And the music was weird, too. It was a weird blend of funk/hip-hop/breakbeat, with random vocal samples scattered in between. The beats were pretty good, but got boring really quick. Imagine four hours of good beats, like the ones you would hear at the top MC battles, except there was no MC. Yeah, it was like that.
Afterwards, we went to IHOP, since we were all starving. We ate pancakes and talked. It was fun. Took my mind off some things.

| Hot Import Nights
Well, Ray, Jerry, and I went to Dallas yesterday to go to Hot Import Nights. The cars there were okay, but the music and free stuff was definitively good. Some of the models were pretty hot too.
I got to meet Jin (I bought his DVD's and CD's because I actually listen to his stuff regularily) and took pictures with some other models. Totally worth the $22 to get in.
I'll post some pictures as soon as Ray sends them to me.

| So What's Up With Alex?
Okay, here's that huge update that everyone has been asking for. I'll divide this into useful sections so you don't get lost. Unfortunately, I will not color-code this one, so you'll have to read between the lines for yourself this time.
>###Design-Related >Okay, quite a bit is going on in this area. I've got a redesign of this site in progress, and I'm also working on creating a custom content management solution for this site's back-end. Of course, I will definitively *not* be doing this using Ruby and Rails. > >I've also got a personal project that I'm working on with Bryan. We haven't done much on it yet, but we're hoping to. Just like the bazillion other projects we've dreamed up of over the years. > >And finally, I've got my client work. I'm listing this last, but this is actually my first priority. I've got two major projects that I'm working on, as well as a few smaller-scale projects. I've been busy.
>###Personal Stuff That You Don't Care About >Everything's going alright. My summer classes are nothing to write home about; totally boring and repetitive. I'm getting all A's in there, so I guess that's good. Nothing much else. Hung out with Jerry, Ray, Don, Mike, Walton, John, Jason, etc. Same old, same old. > >I do, however, need to study for my Physics test that I hope to be taking some time in September/October. Also, [CCCC still hasn't given me back my money](http://alex.imaznation.com/archives/2005/07/why_i_hate_cccc.php).
>###Today >And of course, no "Stuff I Did" entry would be complete with a summary of what I did today. Let's see, I woke up at noon today (which is a first this summer) since I was on the phone for a long time the night before. That was fun, although my hand got tired from holding the phone. > >And later, Jerry, Don, and I went to go chill at Java. And then we drove around all the way to Dallas. For nothing. And then we came back again. Yeah.

| Downtown Dallas
Today was a pretty interesting day. Took some time to go visit downtown Dallas today with Jonathan and Deb. It was pretty cool. We took the DART down there and just walked around and went inside some buildings.
We just walked into this skyscraper and went to the elevator lobby. We called an elevator and went all the way to the top-most floor, just for fun. The view was great! If it wasn't for all that pollution, you could see for miles and miles.
Afterwards, I came home and went running at Russell Creek Park. We jogged for at least a mile (it was well over a mile) and then walked the rest. It's fun, and was definitively a good workout. Now my brother wants me to take him running. I told him I'll take him there tomorrow morning but he has to keep up with me, or else I'm leaving him behind. We'll see how that works out.

| Weird Day
Today has got to be one of the weirdest days in a long while. The weirdness started before I even woke up.
At about 9AM this morning, I had a dream about how I went to get my eyes checked, and then suddenly found myself being asked to stare into four bright red squares on a medium-red background. And then the eye doctor told me to stare straight into the center of spaces between the four squares and told me not to blink. And then I felt a stinging sensation for a few seconds, after which I had to close my eyes. He did this to both eyes. And then, the doctor took a laser and burnt the letter "R" into my left eye.
After that part, I suddenly realized that I had just gotten laser eye surgery to correct my vision. "But how can they do that? They can't fix my type of eye problem!", I said. "They developed a brand-new technique to fix the type of eye problem they have, and you're the first one to test it out," said my Dad. And then we walked home.
And then, my house was a farmhouse. Instead of a lawn, it was dirt out frint, with an old cast-iron gate that enclosed a couryard, with random patches of grass. I was walking back, and noticed a lot of ants crawling around, so I complained to my Dad about the pest problem. He stopped and got down to look at an anthill while I kept on walking. Inside the couryard, which was still mostly sand, I saw an iguana or some sort of comparable lizard. In my mind, I knew it was a lizard, but I yelled to my Dad "Dad, come check this out! It's some type of lizard! A Komodo dragon or a dinosaur!".
And that's when my phone rang. It was Jonathan calling me, to tell me that Chao had just gotten into a car accident in New York.
So I got up, put on some clothes, washed up, and ran over to Chao's house to go tell his Mom about his accident.
Weird day, huh? It's not over yet.
The second part of my weird day came tonight. Well, it's not really weird in terms of weird stuff happening; just weird from my personal perspective. If you know me, you might know why I think this is weird. If not, then consider this a quick summary of the stuff I did today.
So I'm going to Java, with Mike, Justin, Don, Walton, and a few other people. We go in there and find Jerry there as well. I go get a drink (they gave me a free one, since I had a free one on my account), and we sat down to talk. Normal, right? Right. A while later, we're heading out, and I walk past a weird-looking silver Honda Accord that caught my eye. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking "Shit, I hope that's not who I think it is." And then I looked on the back of the car and it had the following Greek letters: Kappa, Delta, and Phi. And I was like "Shit." And then I got into my car and drove home.
>###EDIT: >When I said "Shit," I didn't meant it in the "I never want to see you again" type of way. It a lot closer to something along the lines of "Damn, that would be totally awkward if I did see you." Anyways, I don't have beef with anybody anymore. And those I did have, I took the initiative and apologized. I don't know if they accept, but I figure I've done my part, right? > >Besides, I don't have anything to loose, right? If I've never taken the initiative and apologized to anyone before, then I wouldn't have all the close friends that I have now. They may come off to as assholes and they may be addicted to Warcraft, but they're still cool and we're always down to ride, right? > >It's like those quotes that everybody says. Forgive and forget. Live and learn. Do onto others as you would wish them do onto you. Stuff like that. Words we live by, right? Right.
